Austin Hillside Oasis Lakeview Sightseeing Tour

Your tour begins with your guide picking you up from your downtown Austin accommodation in a stylish and comfortable Mercedes Metris van.

The first stop is at the Stop by the Greetings from Austin Mural. Originally painted in 1997 and restored in 2013, the mural has become an iconic Austin landmark destination.

Next, you’ll get to enjoy a delicious pick-me-up at Mozart’s Coffee Roasters. This coffee shop was the first in-house coffee roaster in Austin, opening over 25 years ago. Today it has a special light show during the holiday season and live music on weekends.

With your caffeine boost you’ll be ready to climb 102 stairs to the viewing deck and pavilion of one of the highest peaks in Austin, standing 775ft above sea level: Mount Bonnell. Mount Bonnell has been a popular sightseeing destination since the mid-19th century and continues to attract tourists and locals for all kinds of outdoor activities. In fact, it’s a favorite spot for mountain bikers, and on the bucket list of many tourists.

You will be awestruck as you traverse the Pennybacker Bridge, an arch bridge across Lake Austin that connects Northern and Southwest sections of Loop 360 highway, or the Capital of Texas Highway. This is considered one of the most scenic urban drives in Texas. The bridge has a weathered rust finish that blends with the surrounding lake and hills. You won’t ever forget this stunning overlook!

For the final part of your tour you’ll stop at The Oasis on Lake Travis, a restaurant and brewery. Set 450 feet above Lake Travis, the view from here is incredible. You can spend time exploring, basking in the views, or if you are feeling hungry, feel free to buy yourself a tasty lunch.

Your guide will then bring you back downtown to your hotel.
