Baileys Harbor Lighthouses Segway and Hike Tour

The fun begins with meeting your expert and entertaining guide. Before you head out, you’ll have a brief training session to ensure everyone is comfortable on their Segway. Do you need to have good balance to ride a Segway PT? No. You just have to trust the Segway and it will balance you.

You’ll then follow your guide along Ridges Road near Baileys Harbor and along Lake Michigan where you’ll will see the Cana Island and Birdcage Lighthouses and a pair of range lights across the water as you are gliding through the Ridges Sanctuary and Toft Point Natural Area.

Following the Segway glide, you will embark on a 2-mile guided hike into the Toft Nature Preserve. Get ready to immerse yourself into the awe-inspiring beauty of nature. Along the way, your guide will regale you with stories about the history of the fishing industry around Baileys Harbor. You’ll visit the fishing boats and an old settlement in the woods, offering a journey through time.

This tour is the perfect combination of nature, adventure, and education. Watch carefully and hopefully you’ll spot some unique flora and wildlife.

Duration:  2.5-hours

Need to know:

• Your Segway adventure begins with a training session that lasts between 10 to 30 minutes depending on group size and comfort level.
• No previous Segway gliding experience is needed.
• Minimum age for participation is 11 years.
• An adult or guardian must accompany children under 18.
• There are no weight restrictions for our tours, but a person must be comfortable on their feet and not have issues climbing stairs without assistance. It is best that a participant is 70 lbs. or more.
• Pregnant women are not allowed to ride on the Segway PT for safety reasons. The maximum number of participants per tour is 9.
• You will be provided a bicycle helmet.You may bring your own helmet if you wish.
• This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
