Charlotte Zombie Scavenger Hunt

Get to know Charlotte in a unique, fun way!

Put your imagination and zombie-apocalypse survival skills to the test. This engaging activity puts a new spin on sightseeing, introducing you to Charlotte from a whole new perspective.

The world is in chaos and zombies outnumber the living 10 to 1. You are part of a small colony struggling to survive. Zombie Scavenge Hunt leads you on a scavenger hunt in downtown Charlotte. You and your friends will search for items needed to survive the Zombie Apocalypse.

The Zombie Scavengers dedicated app will provide you with the list of items you need to find, such as food, bandages, vehicles, bandages, and more. Along the way, you’ll use the smartphone-app to defeat virtual zombies.

You will have 1-hour to take locate and take pictures of these items. The more you find, the more points you’ll earn to increase your chances of surviving. Perform zombie style challenges and answer trivia questions along the way to be receive even more points.

Its not going to be easy. Rival colonies are roaming around, and they will take what you have found if you are not careful.

• A remote host / guide is available to assist you via the app if needed.

How it works:

• Registration instructions will be provided to you after you have activated your Breakaway Experiences' certificate.
• When you are ready to play, you’ll register with the experience provider and download the app called "GooseChase" onto your smartphone.
• You’ll go to your starting location, Founders Hall Plaza on the day / time you want to play. Follow the directions provided to you in the Zombie Scavenger app.
• You'll be given a list of items such to find on the app. You can find these survival items in any order you'd like.
• Once you find an item, you’ll take a picture to prove you found it. You are not required to purchase anything during the scavenger hunt.
• The more items you find, the more points you earn, increasing your odds of survival.
• You won’t be alone. During the game, a remote host / guide will be monitoring your progress via the App. Via the chat feature in the app, the remote host is there to help you in case you need anything.

When:

• Zombie Scavenger Hunt customer support hours are Tuesday-Sunday from 9am-5pm.
• If you prefer, you can play anytime, outside the customer support hours.

Duration: 1-hour

Walking distance involved: 1-mile approximately

Need to know:

• You can have up to 10 people on a team. The optimal size for a group is between 4 and 6 people.
• If you are playing in a larger group, you can divide into teams and play against each other to see who finds all the survival items the quickest!
• You can put the scavenger hunt app on as many phones as you'd like.
• To play the game you will need an iOS or Android Smartphone with data plan.
• Nobody will be physically there with you during the game, dressed as Zombies. Everything is done through your smartphone.
• The game is played all outdoors in public spaces.
• The experience is wheelchair accessible. It is an open scavenger hunt, where you can explore Charlotte, NC on your own terms. There is no specific route, therefore you don’t have to go anywhere that is not wheelchair accessible, nor will you be asked to find anything that could not be accessible in a wheelchair.
