Martinsville Speedway VA NASCAR Style Racing Experience

Feed your need for speed! Real stockcars, real racing, really FAST!

You will begin with a classroom session led by veteran racing instructors who will go over everything you need to know for a safe and exciting experience. Your training will include acceleration guidelines, efficient steering tips, and proper braking techniques.

Then its time to get dressed in your driving suit and helmet, climb through the window, buckle up your 5-point racing harness, lock in the steering wheel … and your are off!

As you are accelerating around Martinsville Speedway's 1/2-mile oval, you will be able to hear the instructor in the one-way radio in your helmet. They will be giving you guidance on driving safely as you get your speed up to 150mph.

It’s just you alone in the car putting your driving skills to the ultimate test!

No previous stock car racing experience needed!

No pace car to follow, passing allowed, no instructor in the car, and all laps are hot laps!

This is the perfect introduction to the thrilling world of driving a NASCAR stock car like the pros do. Buckle up and put the pedal to the metal in a stock car that has raced in real NASCAR competitions.

Highlights:

• Soar around Virginia's Martinsville Speedway 1/2 mile oval.
• Take control of a 500+ horsepower Cup Car and reach speeds up to 150mph.

The Cars: 

• You'll be driving NASCAR style race cars, Cup Cars, used in competitions by top NASCAR teams including Chevrolet Monte Carlos, Pontiac Grand Prix, Dodge Chargers, Toyota Camrys, and Ford Fusions. Amongst them you will find cars from Joe Gibbs Racing, Dale Earnhardt Inc., Hendrick Motorsports, Roush, and others.
• All of the race cars have with standard transmissions. If you need assistance operating a standard vehicle the pit crews will help you exit the pit area and get to speed quickly.
• The steel bodied race cars are stable at speeds of 150mph and more. The chassis, combined with a 500 hp GM crate motor, will have your heart pounding as the stock car rockets off the corner.

Need to know:

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• The minimum age to drive a race car is 18 years old.
• Ride Along: minimum age is 14 years and they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to the event.
• Minimum height requirement is 5′ tall. Maximum height allowable is 6′ 4″.
• Drivers must be able to climb through a 15” high by 28” wide window that is 35” above the ground. Chest and waist size cannot exceed 52".
• Please wear clothes that will be comfortable beneath the driver racing suit.
• Closed toe shoes are required. The shoes you wear should allow you to feel the gas and brake pedals through the sole. A running shoe or equivalent usually works best (no boots). Open-toed shoes are not permitted.
• This experience is weather dependent. If your racing event is cancelled due to weather, your certificate will be rescheduled for a future date. Refunds cannot be issued.
• You are financially responsible for all damage caused to the car due to driver error. A Vehicle Protection Plan is available for $75.00, subject to a $1000.00 deductible. You can purchase optional insurance at the race car track on the day of your event. Due to the quality of the training and cars, damage is rare, but you will be responsible for any damage to the race car.
