Mississippi Avenue Food Tour

The historic, artsy and exciting neighbourhood of Mississippi Avenue has become a “must see” for out of town visitors and a fun experience for Portland locals who haven’t had a chance to eat their way through this laid-back part of the city.

Your food tour of North Mississippi Avenue begins at Mee Sen Thai Eatery, where you'll meet your guide and enjoy your first tasting of the day, Yum Woon Sen glass noodle salad and house made blueberry soda.

While the exact tour itinerary can vary slightly from day to day, your tour is likely to include the Mississippi Marketplace, an iconic food carts/trucks gathering place and The Meadow, a boutique shop dedicated to chocolate, sales and bitters.

As you continue on your culinary adventure, your knowledgeable and entertaining guide will highlight some of the neighbourhood’s unique character, such a light bulb shop where an episode of Portlandia was filmed and one of Portland's famous Benson Bubbler water fountains.

The last stop on your tour is as Ruby Jewel Scoops where you can enjoy two of their signature ice-cream sandwiches.

Tasty highlights you may experience on the tour*:

• Locally brewed beer tasting paired with Willamette Valley cheese and Olympia Provisions cured meats.
• Fleur de sel, flake salts, sel gris, and a sampling of Portland made chocolates.
• Crostini with local farmstead cheeses, caramelized hazelnuts and artisan bread.
• Handcrafted mini-cocktails
• Savor bites of Korean-Mexican tacos and cart made kimchi.
• Handmade lemon cookie - lavender honey ice cream sandwiches, and chocolate chip cookie - salted caramel ice cream.

• The maximum group size is 14.
• Tours run in all weather conditions. Please dress accordingly. Please wear comfortable footwear. An umbrella is always a worthwhile accessory in Portland, Oregon.
• Proof of age may be required. Please bring government issued photo ID.
