Explore Syracuse with Zombie Scavengers!

The whole world is in anarchy. You are part of a small colony of survivors, just outside of the city, and Zombies outnumber the living 10 to 1.

Using the Zombie Scavengers app and their friendly remote host, you'll set out on a quest to survive the zombie apocalypse by finding items needed to survive.

YOUR MISSION: With your team of up to 10 people, you need to make your way downtown to Perseverance Park, where you'll use your smartphone to scavenge downtown NYC for much needed supplies, taking pictures of the survival items from a list provided to you on the app. The more you find and take pictures of, the more points you’ll earn and increase your chances of survival.

You only have 60 minutes. If you get lackadaisical, rival colonies will take what you worked hard to collect. Answer trivia questions and perform some zombie style challenges to be more rewarded points if successful.

If you are playing in a larger group, you can divide into teams. Play against each other to see who finds all the survival items first! You can put the scavenger hunt app on as many phones as you'd like.

This game is family friendly.

No actual zombies are involved in the scavenger hunt!

How it works:

• Zombie Scavengers is an app-led interactive scavenger hunt game played with your smartphone.
• Once you have activated your Breakaway Experiences' certificate, registration intructions will be provided to you.
• When you are ready to play, you’ll register with the experience provider and download the app called "GooseChase" onto your smartphone.
• You’ll go to downtown Syracuse on the day / time you want to play, and follow the directions provided to you in the Zombie Scavenger app.
• Your remote host/guide will be monitoring your progress via the App every step of the way. You can chat with them on the App throughout the game to receive hints, tips and help if you need it.

What's included:

• Self-guided scavenger hunt style walking activity.
• 1 hour with a remote interactive survival guide.

When:

• Zombie Scavenger customer support hours: Tuesday-Sunday from 9am-5pm.
• You can also play anytime, outside the customer support hours.

Duration: 1-hour

Need to know:

• You can have up to 10 people on a team. The optimum group size is between 4 and 6 people.
• Nobody will be physically there with you during the game, dressed as Zombies. Everything is done through your smartphone.
• Once you locate an item, all you need to do is take a picture to prove you found it. You do not have to purchase anything during the scavenger hunt.
• To play the game you will need an Android or iOS Smartphone with data plan.
• The game is played in public spaces outdoors.
• The experience is wheelchair accessible. It is an open scavenger hunt, where you can explore the city on your own terms. There is no specific route, therefore you don’t have to go anywhere that is not wheelchair accessible, nor will you be asked to find anything that could not be accessible in a wheelchair.
