A chilling journey into Charleston's haunted past.

Charleston was not always so refined and elegant. Beneath behind the layers of carriage tours, civility, and genteel southern manners is a city rife with a history of scandals. violence, and death.

This outdoor walking ghost tour is a unique look at a city that largely ignores its dark past. From the city's brothels to true crime stories, prepare yourself to confirm the darker side of human nature. This Charleston Ghost Tour delves into the shockingly salacious, truly horrific and just-plain-weird.

A few of the possible ghostly stops along the tour:

  • Dock Street Theatre: Theatregoers have claimed to see ghosts roaming about in the rafters and on the stage. The most frequently appearing of them is Nettie, seen gliding aimlessly throughout the theatre.
  • Powder Magazine: One the smallest haunted buildings in Charleston and one of few surviving structures from the colonial period, the Powder Magazine has played an important part in Charleston's history. From Indian wars and Spanish threats to French invasion and colonist insurrection, it has experienced its share of heinous moments. Some say there are those who fought, died, and never left.
  • Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon:   Considered to be the most historically significant building in Charleston, spirits are said to roam its stately halls, and the distressing cries of long-dead prisoners in the basement dungeon can still be heard.
  • Chalmers Street: Considered one of the most haunted streets in Charleston, you'll hear about the seedy brothels of Charleston's past and the menacing ghosts roaming today.
  • Pink House: This small house on Chalmers Street used to be one of the most popular brothels in Charleston. Windows flying open suddenly, soft sound of footsteps climbing the stairs throughout the night, and visitors feeling a chilling sensation running down their spine, as though someone is watching them from the stairwell … need we say more?
