Charleston Zombie Scavenger Hunt

Can you survive a Zombie Apocalypse in Charleston today!

Zombies outnumber the living 10 to 1 and small colonies of the living are struggling to survive. You are part of a small group of survivors, just outside of Charleston, South Carolina.

Using an app on your smartphone, you’ll begin your adventure at Marion Square. You’ll receive a list of items you need to find (bandages, food, vehicles, necessities, and more), along with zombie themed challenges to perform for additional points. You’ll have 1-hour to find as many survival items as you can and take a picture through the app.

It won't be easy! Zombies are relentless. Rival colonies are closing in, and they will take what you worked hard to find.

This engaging game puts a new twist on sightseeing and introduces you to places in downtown Charleston that you may never be aware of.

How it works:

• Registration instructions will be provided to you once you have activated your Breakaway Experiences' certificate.
• When you are ready to play, you’ll register with the experience provider and download the app called "GooseChase" onto your smartphone.
• To play the game you will need an iOS or Android Smartphone with data plan.
• You’ll go to the starting location, Marion Square, on the day / time you want to play, and follow the directions provided to you in the Zombie Scavenger app.
• Once you locate an item, all you need to do is take a picture to prove you found it. You do not have to purchase anything during the scavenger hunt.
• You won’t be alone. Your remote host/guide will be monitoring your progress via the App every step of the way. You can chat with them on the App throughout the game to receive tips, hints, and help if you need it.
• You can have up to 10 people on a team. The optimum group size is between 4 and 6 people.
• If you are playing in a larger group, you can divide into teams. Play against each other to see who finds all the survival items first!
• You can put the scavenger hunt app on as many phones as you'd like.

When:

• Zombie Scavenger customer support hours are Tuesday-Sunday from 9am-5pm.
• If you'd like, you can play anytime, outside the customer support hours.

Walking distance involved: 1-mile approximately

Need to know:

• Nobody will be physically there with you during the game, dressed as Zombies. Everything is done through your smartphone.
• The game is played all outdoors in public spaces.
• The experience is wheelchair accessible. It is an open scavenger hunt, where you can explore the city on your own terms. There is no specific route, therefore you don’t have to go anywhere that is not wheelchair accessible, nor will you be asked to find anything that could not be accessible in a wheelchair.
