Real stock cars, real racing, really FAST Check this off your bucket list!

If you've ever dreamed of chasing the checkered flag like the pros do, in a real race car, this is your chance to make that dream come true. This adrenaline-pumping stock car driving experience puts you behind the wheel of a 400 +-horsepower stock car going as fast as you can!

Your experience begins when you arrive at Hickory Motor Speedway and meet your racing instructors. They'll go over safety procedures, the flags used, how to enter and exit the track, cornering, passing, braking, and much more.

You’ll then get suited up in professional racing gear and climb behind the wheel of your stock car. The pit crew will make sure you are buckled snuggly into your 5-point racing harness, and your one-way radio is connected to your helmet. As you are soaring around the track, they will be communicating with you the entire time helping you drive safely, while at the same time, getting your speed up to a mind-blowing level.

No previous car racing experience required!

After a thumbs up, start your engine and head onto the track when the green flag is waved. Reach speeds of up to 150 mph as you live your dream of being a race car driver and see the world through the eyes of a stock car champion.

Upcoming Dates

Highlights
  • High speed laps around Hickory Motor Speedway’s .363-mile asphalt short oval.
  • Receive instruction and guidance from stock car racing veterans in a classroom and while you’re on the track.

The Cars:

If you need assistance operating a standard vehicle the pit crew will help you exit the pit area and get you up to speed quickly.
  • The cars are designed to race on smaller short oval racetracks.
  • Late Model - A high-performance, purpose-build stock car designed for racing on oval tracks, with racing suspensions, powerful V8 engines, tube-frame chassis, and lightweight bodies.
  • Super Late Model - lighter, faster and more powerful than a Late Model stock car.
  • Modified - an open-wheel stock car used mainly on shorter oval tracks, lighter and more agile with exposed front wheels.

Location:

  • Newton, North Carolina, a short drive from Charlotte VIEW MAP
