Pittsburgh Zombie Scavenger Hunt

 A scavenger hunt style adventure in Pittsburgh! What could be more fun?

Zombies outnumber the living 10 to 1. Small colonies of survivors are doing all they can to endure. With your team of up to 10 people, you'll use the game app and your smartphone to explore downtown Pittsburgh for much needed supplies. The more you find and take pictures of, the more points you’ll earn and increase your chances of survival.

You only have 60 minutes, and it won't be easy! Downtown Pittsburgh is infested with zombies and rival colonies will take items you worked hard to find if you are not careful. You'll be able to see the "rival colonies" on the app and monitor how your survival rate compares to theirs based on the number of points you have.

You will be rewarded with virtual tools to ward off the zombies and rival colonies when you've answered trivia questions and completed zombie themed challenges.

This game is great for families!

If you're playing with a larger group, you can divide into teams and compete to see who can find all the items first! You can put the scavenger hunt app on as many phones as you'd like.

No actual zombies are involved in the scavenger hunt!

How it works:

• Zombie Scavengers is an app-led scavenger hunt game played with your smartphone.
• Once you have activated your Breakaway Experiences' certificate, registration intructions will be provided to you.
• When you are ready to play, you’ll register with the experience provider and download the app "GooseChase" onto your smartphone.
• You’ll go to Market Square on the day / time you want to play, and follow the directions provided to you in the Zombie Scavenger app.
• Your remote host/guide will be monitoring your progress via the App every step of the way. You can chat with them on the App throughout the game to receive hints, tips and help if you need it.

What's included:

• Self-guided scavenger hunt style walking activity.
• 1 hour with a remote interactive survival guide.

When:

• Zombie Scavenger customer support hours: Tuesday-Sunday from 9am-5pm.
• You can also play anytime, outside the customer support hours.

Duration: 1-hour

Need to know:

• You can have up to 10 people on a team. The ideal group size is between 4 and 6 people.
• Nobody will be physically there with you during the game, dressed as Zombies. Everything is done through your smartphone.
• Once you find an item, all you need to do is take a picture to prove you found it. You do not have to purchase anything during the scavenger hunt.
• To play the game you will need an iOS or Android Smartphone with data plan.
• The game is played in public spaces outdoors.
• The experience is wheelchair accessible. It is an open scavenger hunt, where you can explore the city on your own terms. There is no specific route, therefore you don’t have to go anywhere that is not wheelchair accessible, nor will you be asked to find anything that could not be accessible in a wheelchair.
